Professional Biography
Dr. Gordon Searles is a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Dermatology and Cutaneous Medicine, Department of Medicine of the University of Alberta. He is also director of the dermatology resident training program. The Royal College of Physicians of Canada certifies him in Internal Medicine and Dermatology. He is a diplomate in dermatology with the American Board of Dermatology. He was recently honoured by being inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians/American Society of Internal Medicine in recognition of his work with Internal Medicne and Dermatology. He is a member of the Capital Health Authority, Alberta Society of Dermatologists, the Canadian Dermatology Association, and 14 other medical societies.
A graduate of the optometry program at the University of Waterloo, Dr. Searles earned a medical degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Ottawa affiliated hospitals. He then pursued subspecialty training in Dermatology and a Master's of Science in Experimental Medicine at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta.
Dr. Searles practises in association with four other dermatologists at the Western Canada Dermatology Institute in Edmonton. His clinical interests include the management of acne vulgaris, psoriasis, chronic wounds, and the dermatological manifestations of internal disease.
He lives in Edmonton, Alberta, with his wife, Susan.
