Professional Biography
Dr. Schemmer is a board-certified Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. Memberships also include the International Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the Canadian Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, and the Canadian Society of Hair Transplant Surgeons.
He completed his medical training at the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario and took his specialty training in Dermatology at the University of Toronto, where he was appointed chief resident at the Toronto Hospital in his final year of training. He has had widespread practice experience in both general and rural dermatology, having worked as a part-time consultant to the Underserviced Area Program of Ontario for the Ministry of Health, traveling to northwestern Ontario to provide specialist consultative care to the area for a period of over 10 years.
His current practice is confined to Cosmetic Dermatology, Botox injections, anti-aging procedures and new techniques in skin rejuvenation. along with Hair Transplant surgery.
Specialized Training or Interest
Dr. Schemmer’s interest is in hair transplantation surgery along with cosmetic dermatology. His training in transplantation includes training with Dr. Walter Unger, Toronto, with whom he was associated with, along with training in Europe, New York and Los Angeles.
