An Invitation from the President

Invitation from the
2012 Organizing Committee

Dear Colleagues:

Mark June 28 to July 1 on your calendar and join us at the 87th Annual Conference of the

Canadian Dermatology Association in our Nation’s Capital: Ottawa, Ontario. The CDA Annual Conference is your opportunity to come together with colleagues from across the country and learn what’s new in our specialty.

The Annual Conference Committee and Local Planning Committee, under the leadership of Drs Louis Weatherhead and Melanie Pratt, are working hard organizing a robust scientific program as well as a social program that reflects the local flavour of Ottawa. Again this year expect to see renowned Canadian and International speakers present the latest on new innovations in dermatology, ground-breaking research on therapeutics, dermatopathology, pediatrics and oncology, as well as engage in discussions with delegates. This dynamic exchange of ideas and research is not to be missed!

No matter what your area of interest is, you are sure to find great value in this meeting.

The feedback we received from last year’s conference was instrumental to our planning and once again we aim to deliver the high-calibre program you’ve come to expect.

To be part of this notable event, I would like to invite each of you to submit your presentations. Let’s highlight the leading researchers that are Canada’s dermatologists.

Join me in Ottawa as we network, share first-rate science, and celebrate Canada Day on Parliament Hill. You haven’t celebrated Canada’s birthday until you’ve been at the largest party in the country, so remember to bring along your family for this unique opportunity.

I look forward to seeing you in Ottawa!

Denise Wexler, MD, FRCPC
President, Canadian Dermatology Association

Dear Colleagues:

It is with pleasure that we invite you to join us in Ottawa for the 87th Annual Conference of the Canadian Dermatology Association. Ottawa is a wonderful city and the meeting will encompass the Canada day celebrations which are truly represented here.

The organizing committee is hard at work developing a meeting that we are sure will be of the highest standard and meet your professional needs. In keeping with the Ottawa tradition, we will again have a clinical session, which we are sure will be very educational.

Topics this year will include cutaneous malignancies, contact dermatitis, skin of colour, genodermatoses, paediatric dermatology, dermatologic therapeutics and surgical dermatology.

We invite you to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations on the above topics or any other topic that may have relevance to the practising dermatologist. Your participation is important to the success of this meeting.

On behalf of the Ottawa committee, Drs Melanie Pratt, Steven Glassman, Harvey Finkelstein, Nordau Kanigsberg, Simone Fahim, Michele Ramien and myself, we look forward to welcoming you to Ottawa for what we are sure will be a wonderful experience.

Best wishes to all our colleagues,

Louis Weatherhead
