Dr Hakeem Sam, a McGill University dermatology resident, received the Barney Usher Research Award in Dermatology for the research he presented in the manuscript SLC1a1 (Nramp1) regulates the expression of SLP1 in murine macrophages:  implications for cutaneous wound healing and host defence against intracellular parasites.
